Trinity continues the long-running collaboration between the de facto madhatters of watchmaking, MB&F, and the leading Swiss clockmaker panerai luminor submersible replica1839. As with Giger's imaginations, Trinity's intentions aren't always benevolent. The low-slung, arachnid like body is held up by the three limbs, giving it a predatory feel, but filtered through a lens of high-quality craftsmanship. It's a desk-bound timekeeper with Louise Bourgeois-like tendencies. Designer Maertens credits the 1993 Jurassic Park blockbuster as the key inspiration for the piece, and notes that Trinity was the insectoid which outlived dinosaurs.
The heart of Trinity's evolutionary design is an eight-day panerai luminor submersible replica, 2.5 Hz movement made of 182 components. It's protected by a blue, red, or green fluorescent acrylic shield. Two concentric dials are used to display the time at the top of central body. One is for the hours, and the other for the minutes. Three orbs of mineral crystal, shaped like eyestalks, allow you to easily read the time.
